Attending the program on behalf of Samsung Vietnam is Mr. Kim Yong Sup - Vice President of Samsung Vietnam; Ms. Tran Thi Huyen - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hau Giang Province; and Ms. Doan Bich Ngoc - Executive Director of JA Vietnam.

Also present are representatives from several schools in the southern region, including the Singapore International School and Him Lam Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, among others.

Following the success of the launch roadshows in the Northern region at the end of March 2025 and in the Central region in mid-May 2025, the launch event in the Southern region is being continued by Samsung to further expand the competition’s reach among Southern students. This effort contributes to the promotion of STEM education and strengthens initiatives aimed at nurturing technological talent - one of the key foundations for the country’s future development.

In 2024, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition received enthusiastic participation from teams in the Southern region, with nearly 800 entries submitted by approximately 4,000 students and teachers. Among these, many teams were highly evaluated and achieved outstanding results, specifically: 13 teams made it to the Top 40 nationwide, including one team from Hau Giang that won First Prize in the Lower Secondary category, one team from Ben Tre that secured Third Prize in the Upper Secondary category, and one team from Ho Chi Minh City that received the Promising Award and the People’s Choice Award in the Upper Secondary category.

In 2025, the competition is expected to reach approximately 50,000 students in the Southern region and aims to receive an even greater number of entries from students in this area.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kim Yong Sup - Vice President of Samsung Vietnam states:

“Solve for Tomorrow is one of Samsung’s core corporate social responsibility programs, and today, I feel the competition holds even greater meaning as it takes place in Ho Chi Minh City - widely regarded as the economic capital of Vietnam. I hope the competition will receive strong participation from students, and through this platform, they will be able to unlock their potential and discover opportunities for personal growth. At the same time, I look forward to seeing many creative ideas that can contribute to building a better Vietnamese society.”

Also at the event, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hau Giang Province  shared: “As a province located quite far from Ho Chi Minh City and still facing many limitations in science and technology, Hậu Giang has, over the years, greatly benefited from the Solve for Tomorrow program. Thanks to this initiative, our teachers and students have had the opportunity to access and ignite a passion for science. I truly believe that the future paths of our students will be shaped by the very passion sparked today through Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow. On behalf of the Department of Education and Training, I would like to sincerely thank Samsung for its continued support of both the education sector and the young generation of Vietnam.”

As part of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 competition, Samsung also launched the initiative “Solve for Tomorrow on Tour - Spreading knowledge, inspiring creativity”. Starting on April 26, 2025, and after just over a month of implementation, the program has been carried out at 14 schools across 10 provinces and cities, bringing fresh STEM knowledge to approximately 12,000 students. Through a series of interactive activities including career orientation workshops, technology experiences, and robot innovation sessions held across the North, Central, and South regions, “Solve for Tomorrow on Tour” helps students better understand the role of STEM in daily life and their future careers.

About Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a competition for lower and upper secondary school students (with guidance from teachers) that encourages them to take initiative in researching and applying STEM education to address social issues.

In Vietnam, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition was first held in 2019. Since then, it has become an annual creative thinking playground for students aged 12 to 18. By the end of 2024, the program has attracted nearly 480,000 students and teachers registering and received nearly 7,500 entries.

Following the success of previous years, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will be conducted over eight months, from March 28, 2025, to October 31, 2025. The competition is divided into two categories: Category A for lower secondary students and Category B for upper secondary students, featuring three rounds of competition.

Participating in this year’s competition, students will apply knowledge of STEM, Artificial intelligence, and Design thinking to identify and implement innovative solutions addressing existing social issues that focus on one of the following themes: Developing a sustainable environment through technology; Combining sports and technology to transform society (aiming at education and future development); and Applying technology to foster sustainable social development.

Students and their teacher mentors will have the opportunity to participate in online and in-person courses, as well as valuable training programs across all three regions of Vietnam throughout the competition.

Especially in the context where AI - the core technology of the Fourth industrial revolution - is rapidly developing and widely applied, playing an important role in many social fields, this year, alongside the usual training on Design Thinking, the competition’s training programs for the first time provide students with knowledge about AI, how to apply AI to solve problems, and how to use AI to develop their contest projects. This is one of Samsung’s efforts to equip Vietnam’s younger generation with useful knowledge in the high-tech era, contributing to supporting Vietnam in realizing its future goals.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 is expected to attract approximately 160,000 students registering for the online course, with 2,400 contest entries submitted from lower and upper secondary schools nationwide.

The total prize value for this year’s competition is nearly VND 6 billion, featuring many attractive award categories. Additionally, schools with teams winning first prize will receive sponsorship from Samsung to build STEM Labs worth USD 60,000.
