Impressive Numbers – Proof of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow’s appeal
Over six seasons, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition has become an annual technology playground for students nationwide. Entering its seventh year, the contest continues to prove its strong appeal.
Launched on March 28, 2025, after more than three months of implementation, the Preliminary Round closed with results far exceeding expectations 2,625 submissions were received from secondary and high schools across 63 provinces and cities, marking the highest number of entries in the contest’s history. Among them, Group A (secondary schools) recorded 1,118 entries, while Group B (high schools) reached 1,507.
These impressive numbers not only demonstrate the strong attraction of Solve for Tomorrow but also affirm its role as a platform that ignites young people’s passion for technology and innovation. The balanced participation from all localities shows that the program has succeeded in creating a fair playing field, encouraging students everywhere to express their ideas and contribute to their communities.
Entries to Solve for Tomorrow 2025 stood out not only for their quantity but also for their quality and diversity, clearly reflecting students’ deep concern for social, environmental, and health issues. With three main themes: Sustainable society, Sustainable environment, and Sports & Technology, teams presented creative, human-centered solutions aimed at sustainable development.
The Sustainable society theme, addressing practical issues such as school safety, mental and physical healthcare, and support for vulnerable groups including people with disabilities, the elderly, children, and students in remote areas, attracted the most attention, accounting for 58% of entries in Group A and 56% in Group B. This demonstrates that students today are aware of their role in tackling social challenges, aligning with the contest’s goal of not only generating impactful technological solutions but also fostering social consciousness among young people while they are still at school.
In the field of Sustainable Environment, submissions closely reflected local realities from pollution control and water protection to resource recycling, highlighting students’ sense of responsibility in preserving their living environment. For Sports & Technology, ideas focused on personalizing exercise experiences, enhancing performance, and ensuring safety, contributing to building a healthier community.
This year, teams skillfully applied advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), sensors, and microcontroller programming to create smart solutions. For example, many projects used AI to detect dangerous behaviors, while IoT was integrated to build intelligent systems.
A notable highlight is the students’ design thinking, which always placed users at the center, prioritizing sustainability and practical application. Many solutions went beyond automation, incorporating predictive and behavioral analysis capabilities, such as image, voice, or even brainwave recognition. These ideas not only reflect students’ creative capacity but also demonstrate their sense of social responsibility and long-term vision—the qualities of a generation that will lead Vietnam toward a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.
The Next journey – Conquering new heights of creativity
The Preliminary round is just the beginning of the inspiring journey of Solve for Tomorrow 2025. After selecting the most outstanding ideas, the teams that advance will enter the Training Round, where they will participate in intensive courses with experts from Samsung and leading partners. Here, students will gain additional knowledge in technology, presentation skills, and design thinking, enabling them to refine their ideas and enhance practical applicability. Teams will also receive guidance to develop product models, bringing their solutions closer to reality.
Next, the Prototype and Finals will provide opportunities for teams to present and defend their ideas before a panel of experts, competing for valuable prizes and the chance to realize their projects. This is not only a platform to discover the most innovative solutions but also a place where students cultivate confidence, teamwork, and systems thinking skills.
