Da Nang, on May 21, 2025 – Samsung Vietnam and the Junior Achievement Vietnam (JA Vietnam)  have officially launched the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 competition in the Central region, aiming to further promote STEM education and inspire students in the area. From Samsung Vietnam, the ceremony was attended by Mr. Na Ki Hong, President of Samsung Vietnam, and Mr. Kim Yong Sup, Vice President of Samsung Vietnam in charge of External Affairs.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a competition for secondary and high school students (with the guidance of teachers), encouraging them to proactively research and apply STEM education to solve societal problems.

In Vietnam, the Solve for Tomorrow competition was held for the first time in 2019. Until now, it has become an annual creative thinking playground for secondary and high school students from 12 to 18 years old. By the end of 2024, the program has attracted more than 475,000 students and teachers to register, receiving nearly 7,500 entries.

With the desire to promote STEM education and nurture tech talent—a key foundation for future national development—this year marks the third consecutive year Samsung has organized direct kick-off events in all three regions of Vietnam.

At the event, Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan - Director of Da Nang Department of Education and Training shared:
“On behalf of Da Nang Department of Education and Training, I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of Samsung Group in accompanying the education sector over the years, creating a useful, modern and inspiring learning playground for Vietnamese students in general, and Da Nang students in particular.
I believe that Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will continue to discover and nurture many creative ideas with high applicability, contributing to spreading the spirit of science and technology, while promoting the sustainable development of the community, locality and society.”

Bà Lê Thị Bích Thuận – Giám đốc Sở Giáo dục và Đào tạo thành phố Đà Nẵng chia sẻ tại sự kiện

In his speech at the event, Mr. Na Ki Hong, President of Samsung Vietnam, stated:
“Training and nurturing talent is the most important issue for countries. In particular, training technology talent is the key for each country to join the ranks of developed countries around the world.

In addition to economic contributions, Samsung hopes to contribute to enhancing Vietnam's basic competitiveness through nurturing technology talent, and more broadly, joining hands to nurture Vietnam's future leaders.

We hope that students nationwide will continuously improve their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and problem-solving skills to become the country's key talents.”

Ông Na Ki Hong – Tổng giám đốc Samsung Việt Nam phát biểu tại sự kiện

In recent years, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow has seen enthusiastic participation from students in Da Nang and the Central region. In 2024 alone, there were nearly 600 submissions from more than 2,500 students and teachers in Central Vietnam. Among them, many teams received high evaluations and awards: 11 teams made it into the Top 40 nationwide to enter the product development round (Round 2), 5 teams advanced to the National Finals, and notably, 1 team won First Prize in Group B (High School) and 1 team won Second Prize in Group A (Secondary School).

The 2025 Da Nang roadshow is expected to further expand the competition's reach among Central Vietnam students, helping Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 achieve its goal of engaging around 50,000 students in the region.

Earlier, in Northern Vietnam, Samsung launched the competition in Hanoi in late March 2025. According to the plan, the roadshow will conclude in Ho Chi Minh City by the end of May 2025.

About Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025

Building on the success of previous competitions, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will run for eight months, from March 28, 2025, to October 31, 2025, and is divided into two groups: Group A for secondary school students and Group B for high school students, with three rounds of competition.

This year, students will apply STEM knowledge, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Design Thinking to develop creative solutions for real-life social issues in one of the following themes: Promoting environmental sustainability through technology, Combining Sports and Technology to drive social change to change society (aimed at education and future development), Applying technology to promote sustainable social development.

Students and teachers will have the opportunity to participate in online and in-person courses, as well as useful training programs across the three regions throughout the competition.

Notably, given the rapid development and growing applications of AI, a key technology of the 4th industrial revolution, this year's competition will, for the first time, include AI training alongside the usual Design Thinking curriculum. Students will learn how to apply AI in problem-solving and product development for their projects. This initiative reflects Samsung's commitment to equipping Vietnamese youth with valuable knowledge for the high-tech era and supporting Vietnam’s future development goals.

Additionally, to spread STEM knowledge more broadly, Samsung is also organizing the "Solve for Tomorrow on Tour – Spreading Knowledge, Igniting Creativity" campaign as part of the 2025 competition. This initiative not only introduces new STEM concepts but also inspires students to confidently explore and apply technology in real life. Through interactive activities such as career orientation workshops, technology experiences, and robot creativity events across the Northern, Central, and Southern regions, the program helps students better understand the role of STEM in daily life and future careers. Launched in April 2025, the tour has already visited 8 secondary and high schools, reaching nearly 10,000 students, including over 5,000 students in the Central Region of Vietnam.

The tour is expected to continue through May 2025, ultimately reaching about 12,000 students nationwide.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 is expected to attract around 160,000 students enrolling in the online courses, with approximately 2,400 submissions from secondary and high schools across the country.

The total prize value for this year's competition is up to VND 6 billion, with many attractive prize categories. Additionally, first-place winning schools will receive sponsorship from Samsung to build a STEM Lab valued at USD 60,000.
